Teen Nabbed For 'Ransacking' Unlocked Vehicles In Westchester

A teenager is facing a pair of felony charges after being busted by police in Northern Westchester for allegedly “entering and ransacking” unlocked vehicles in the area.

Officers from the Bedford Police Department were dispatched to a Babbitt Road residence in Bedford Hills at approximately 12:30 a.m on Friday, May 25, where there was a report of a “suspicious person in a driveway who fled the scene.”

Investigation into the incident found that two unlocked vehicles at the original complainant’s residence had been entered, as well as several other vehicles in the area, with some having property stolen.

Police said that a suspect was swiftly developed and at 1:25 p.m. on the same day, an 18-year-old Mount Kisco resident was tracked down and charged with felony counts of fourth-degree grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. 

Following arraignment, the teen was remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.

Officials said that more charges are forthcoming. Police said that it is being treated as a juvenile case. Keep following Daily Voice for updates as they become available.
